Catalog Number: (IC04814326)
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Acrylamide is a monomer used in a variety of synthetic processes to form polymers and copolymers. It polymerizes in the presence of free radicals in aqueous solutions. It is usually used to prepare polyacrylamide gels for electrophoresis separation of biomolecules. Common reaction initiators are riboflavin and ammonium persulfate; varying the ratio of acrylamide to crosslinking agent permits the formation of a gel with predictable average pore size and texture. Acrylamide tends to hydrolyze under acidic or basic conditions to form acrylic acid. Polyacrylamide plastics have numerous commercial applications, due in part to the tendency of polyacrylamide to adsorb many times its own mass in water. Acrylic acid and any ionic impurities in the acrylamide can have significant effects on the performance of the acrylamide gel formed, since the voltage across the gel is affected by the ionic charge of the gel and usage buffers.
Store at Room Temperature (15-30 °C), Dessicated.

Supplier: Biotium
Description: Thiazole green, which is structurally identical to SYBR® green I nucleic acid gel stain, is one of the most sensitive stains available for detecting double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) in agarose, polyacrylamide gels and qPCR.
Supplier: VWR
Description: An extensive line of acrylamide and bis-acrylamide pre-weighed powder blends, premixed stock solutions and ready-to-use solutions for customized polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of proteins and PAGE of nucleic acids. Ultra-pure (>99.9%) acrylamide and bis-acrylamide powders provide the flexibility to prepare solutions having concentrations and ratios for all electrophoresis applications. Liquid blends minimize the handling of neurotoxic acrylamide.
Supplier: Thermo Scientific Chemicals
Description: DNA loading dye used to prepare markers and samples for loading on agarose or polyacrylamide gels in molecular biology protocols.
Supplier: Thermo Scientific Chemicals
Description: Bis-acrylamide cross-links with acrylamide to form polyacrylamide gels for electrophoresis. Changing the ratio of bis-acrylamide to acrylamide controls the pore size of polyacrylamide gels.
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Description: Storage: Room Temperature, desiccate.
Acrylamide is prepared on an industrial scale by the hydrolysis of acrylonitrile by nitrile hydratase.
Acrylamide is a monomer used in a variety of synthetic processes to form polymers and copolymers. It polymerizes in the presence of free radicals in aqueous solutions. It is usually used to prepare polyacrylamide gels for electrophoresis separation of biomolecules.
Acrylamide is an extremely hazardous substance in either the powder form or liquid form. Once polymerized, the polyacrylamide is considered safe to handle under normal laboratory conditions. Acrylic Acid Content -≤0.001%
