Description: Bst2 was first identified as a novel terminal B-cell-restricted antigen termed HM1.24 that is expressed on certain bone marrow cells as well as other tissues. The surface expression of Bst2 on fibroblast cell lines facilitated the stromal cell-dependent growth of DW34, a pre-B-cell line, suggesting that this protein is involved in pre-B-cell growth. Later experiments also showed it to be upregulated in several myeloma cells. More recently, Bst2 was identified an inhibitor of retroviral release from human cells whose activity is antagonized by the HIV-1 accessory protein Vpu. While Bst2 caused retention of virions on cell surfaces or endocytosis into Bst2-positive compartments, its depletion abolished the viral requirement for Vpu for virus release. This activity may represent a potential therapeutic strategy for the treatment of HIV/AIDS.

Description: Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) was initially identified as a member of the src family for protein-tyrosine kinases that was involved in X-linked agamma-globulinaemia, and has since been shown to involved in a number of signaling pathways in hemapoietic lineage. It has recently been shown to interact with members of the toll-like receptor (TLR) family such as TLR4, 6, 8, and 9. The TLRs are critical molecules in both the innate and adaptive immunity and can recognize diverse microbial pathogens. BTK has also been shown to interact with key proteins involved in TLR4 signal transduction such as MyD88, TIRAP, and IRAK, but not TRAF-6, suggesting that BTK is involved in lipopolysaccharide signal transduction.

Description: CaMKPase is a member of the PP2C family of Ser/Thr protein phosphatases that dephosphorylate and regulate the multifunctional Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinases (CaMKs) (1). The multifunctional CaMKs mediate cellular responses induced by increases in second messenger Ca2+ and have been implicated in the control of synaptic transmission, gene transcription, cell growth and contraction of cardiac and smooth muscles (2). Overexpression of CaMKPase has been shown to mediate caspase-dependent apoptosis. CaMKPase can also interact with the Rho guanine nucleotide exchange factors (PIX) thereby blocking the effects of p21-activated kinase 1 (PAK1). CaMKPase Protein is idealt to investigators involved in Signaling Proteins, Cellular Proteins, Cardiovascular Disease, ERK/MAPK Pathway, Neurobiology, Phosphatases, and PKA/PKC Pathway research.

Catalog Number: (10800-510)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Calponin is a basic 34-kD protein first isolated from chicken gizzard and bovine aorta. It is specifically expressed in smooth muscle and binds calmodulin, actin, and tropomyosin. It is able to inhibit the ATPase activity of myosin and is thought to play a role in smooth muscle contraction. Calponin is a smooth muscle specific, actin-, tropomyosin- and calmodulin-binding protein thought to be involved in some way in the regulation or modulation of contraction. This antibody is suitable for researchers interested in cardiovascular diseases, Calcium Regulation in Cardiac Cells, myometrial pathways, skin cancer research, and down syntrome.

Catalog Number: (10800-488)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Bub1 was initially identified as the mammalian homolog to the yeast protein through a cDNA screen. Bub1 encodes a kinase involved in the formation of the spindle checkpoint, an important mechanism that ensures high fidelity mitotic chromosome segregation. It is thought to be required for assembly of a functional inner centromere, sister chromatid cohesion via targeting of the Shugoshim protein and metaphase congression. Bub1 functions by phosphorylating cdc20, a member of the mitotic checkpoint complex and activating the spindle checkpoint. A related protein kinase Bub3 interacts with Bub1 and targets it to kinetochores prior to chromosome alignment. Mutations in bub1 have been associated with aneuploidy and several forms of cancer.

Catalog Number: (RL009-0309)
Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical
Description: Produced through a multi-stage process that includes delipidation, salt fractionation, ion-exchange chromatography, gel filtration, and affinity chromatography. No contaminating proteins are observed when assayed at a protein concentration of 20mg/mL against anti-whole serum or anti-fragment specific antisera. All immunoglobulin fragments are prepared from highly purified, whole molecules subject to enzymatic digestion.
