Description: NF-L antibody detects Neurofilament L. Neurofilaments are the 10nm or intermediate filament proteins found specifically in neurons, and are composed predominantly of three major proteins called NF-L, NF-M and NF-H. NF-L is the neurofilament light or low molecular weight polypeptide and runs on SDS-PAGE gels at about 68kDa. Antibodies to NF-L are useful for identifying neuronal cells and their processes in tissue sections and in tissue culture. Mutations in the protein coding region of the human NF-L gene cause some forms of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Anti-Neurofilament L antibody is ideal for investigators involved in Cell Signaling and Neuroscience research.

Description: TWA1 was identified through a two hybrid-associated protein screen with RanBPM. TWA1 is well conserved through evolution and is localized within the nucleus. It interacts with RanBP9 and comprises a protein complex with RanBPM and Muskelin. TWA1 was found to possess the LisH-CTLH motif which is detected in proteins involved in microtubule dynamics, cell migration, nucleokinesis and chromosome segregation. These functions overlap with functions suggested for the RanGTPase cycle. Recent findings suggested that there is an as yet uncovered function of the RanGTPase cycle.

Description: TYW1, also known as TYW1A, RSAFD1 or YPL207W, is a 732 amino acid protein containing one flavodoxin-like domain that participates in the wybutosine-tRNA (Phe) biosynthesis pathway. Wybutosine (yW) is a hypermodified guanosine at the 3-prime position adjacent to the anticodon of phenylalanine tRNA that stabilizes codon-anticodon interactions during decoding on the ribosome. TYW1 is involved in a multistep enzymatic reaction that stabilizes codon-anticodon base-pairing during the ribosomal decoding process, thereby ensuring correct translation. TYW1 binds to one 4Fe-4S cluster and is located on human chromosome 7. Defects in some of the genes on chromosome 7 have been linked to Osteogenesis imperfecta, Williams-Beuren syndrome, Lissencephaly, Citrullinemia and Shwachman-Diamond syndrome, suggesting that TYW1 may play a role in these conditions

Description: Ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme 13 (Ubc13) was initially discovered in S. cerevisiae as a DNA-damage inducible protein involved in the error-free DNA postreplication repair pathway. It has recently been shown to be an important component of the Toll-like receptor and IL-1R signaling pathway. Signals from these pathways are relayed by a number of downstream molecules such as MyD88 and tumor necrosis factor receptor associated factor (TRAF6), ultimately activating various kinases and transcription factors. Ubc13 is part of a dimeric ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme complex also containing UEV1A (ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2 variant 1) that together with TRAF6 activates TAK1, a member of the mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase family. The Ubc13-UEV1A complex also mediates the Lys-63 ubiquitination of TRAF-6, and this ubiquitination is essential for TAK1 activation.
