Cell strainers make obtaining a more uniform single cell suspension easy. Three nylon mesh pore sizes are available for isolating cells of different sizes, and cell strainers are faster and easier than gauze filtering to remove cell clumps and tissues that interfere with sensitive instrumentation. Ideal for stem cell and tissue-derived primary cell preparation. Tab enables easy aseptic handling. Individually packaged and gamma sterilized.

Cell strainers from ASI are an economical choice. Easy to use and simple to dispose of after use, these basic yet highly functional devices can be easily fitted onto standard conical tubes as well as other types of laboratory test tubes with the goal of isolating certain types of cells and of breaking clusters of cells or tissues in single cells in order to produce uniform, single cell suspensions. Thus, they provide a much faster alternative, which at the same time requires less effort on behalf of the researcher, to gauze filtration. Additionally, using strainers will help to lower the risk of contamination for samples to a minimum, ensuring that it maintains its integrity.

These cell strainers are manufactured from a strong, very resistant nylon mesh which has evenly spaced pores on its surface, providing a uniform filtration platform which will ensure constant, good results. Choose from three available mesh sizes of 40, 70, and 100 µm, to isolate different sized cells.

Nylon mesh cell strainers feature an extended molded lip which allows easy handling of the strainer while keeping it sterile, by using a sterile forceps or any other laboratory instrument. The standard dimensions means they can be used with a variety of test tubes commonly found in laboratories.

Depending on the size of their pores, these cell filters will provide optimal results in a variety of tasks, by isolating cells of different sizes, breaking up clusters of cells or tissue, and keeping debris away. They are ideal for preparing specimens for flow cytometry because of their ability of removing cell clumps and foreign objects from cell suspensions and research samples before the analyses, which will protect expensive and sensitive instruments such as the flow cytometer or the cell sorter. These cell strainers are also used for primary cell culture, as well as in procedures involving stem cells, cells derived from tissues and cancer cells, such as the operations of preparing primary cell cultures and immunogens.

The nylon mesh cell strainers from ASI are produced in carefully controlled conditions, by highly trained staff using state of the art technology which will test the quality of the products throughout the manufacturing process. The raw material used for the production of these items is high quality, research grade, non-cytotoxic nylon mesh, is made from high quality nylon. This material has high abrasion and alkali resistance, and a high resistance to pressure. The softening point of the material is at around 210 °C and the melting point of the nylon mesh is at about 230 °C. The fact that the material is non-cytotoxic is a big asset, as it will not interfere with sample quality and will not kill the cells within it. In order to ensure research success, each strainer shipped is pre-sterilized (SAL 10⁻⁶ sterilization) with the use of low-level gamma radiation (gamma irradiation) after being individually wrapped in medical grade packaging that will ensure its supplied ready to use.
