Gram stain kit 90000-708 contains one 250mL bottle each of Gram Crystal Violet Solution, Gram Iodine Solution (Stabilized), Gram Decolorizer Solution, and Gram Safranin. Gram stain kit 90008-892 contains one 250mL bottle each of Gram Crystal Violet Solution, Gram Iodine Solution (Unstabilized), Gram Decolorizer Solution, and Gram Safranin.

Gram Crystal Violet Appearance: Deep purple solution with no visible precipitate.
Gram Stabilized Iodine Appearance: Dark brown solution.
Gram Decolorizer Appearance: Colorless clear solution with no visible precipitate.
Gram Safranin Appearance: Red solution with an easily dispersed fine precipitate.
Slides of the test organisms were stained using the Gram stain technique. Slides were examined using the oil immersion lens of a light microscope.
