Ethyl Acetate is an organic solvent with the structure CH3-COO-CH2-CH3 (C4H8O2). This colorless liquid has a characteristic sweet odor. In the laboratory, mixtures containing ethyl acetate are used in column chromatography and extractions. Ethyl acetate does not work well as a reaction solvent because it is prone to hydrolysis and transesterification. Ethyl acetate is volatile at room temperature and has a boiling point of 77 °C. Suitable for GC and Pesticide Residue Analysis.
- For gas chromatography (GC)
- Developed especially for the application in residue analysis of pesticides and other low-volatile substances using GC
- Non-volatile matter and water content are specified for each solvent
