Pierce™ Nucleic Acid Detection Blocking Buffer, Thermo Scientific
Supplier: 0000013509
Nucleic Acid Detection Blocking Buffer is intended for use with the Thermo Scientific Chemiluminescent Nucleic Acid Detection Module Kit, of which it is also a component
- Fast and sensitive
- Versatile kit protocol (included) is applicable to any biotin-based nucleic acid detection system: Northerns, Southerns, EMSA, RPAs and colony lifts
- Kit contains only the critical detection components for those who already have biotin-labeled probes and an optimised hybridisation method developed
Non-specific binding of probe to membrane can be minimized by incubating the membrane in blocking buffer for 15 minutes. The system uses an enhanced luminol substrate for horseradish peroxidase (HRP) with optimized blocking and wash steps that together produce sensitivity equivalent to radioactive (32P) systems and provide a clean, consistent background required for publication-quality data.
It is a complete system for the detection of biotin-labeled nucleic acids for various blotting applications, including Northern/Southern blots, ribonuclease protection assays (RPAs), and electrophoretic mobility shift assays (EMSAs) or gel-shift assays. Store at 4˚C.
Delivery information: Kit contains stabilized Streptavidin-HRP conjugate, 1,5 mL; chemiluminescent substrate (luminol/enhancer solution, 80 mL and stable peroxide solution, 80 mL); blocking buffer, 500 mL; 4X wash buffer, 500mL; and substrate equilibration buffer, 500mL.
Caution: For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
