STAT2 (Signal transducer and activator of transcription) is a family member of STAT transcription factors that are implicated in programming gene expression in biological events as diverse as embryonic development, programmed cell death, organogenesis, innate immunity, adaptive immunity and cell growth regulation (1). JAKs can phosphorylate and activate STATs. Activation of the JAK/STAT pathway in response to cytokine action can lead to regulation of gene expression during proliferation and differentiation of the immune cells. STATs have been shown to be involved in inflammation, autoimmune and allergic diseases (2). STAT2 Protein is ideal for investigators involved in Signaling Proteins, Transcription Proteins, Apoptosis/Autophagy, Cancer, ERK/MAPK Pathway, Inflammation, and JAK/STAT Pathway research.
STAT2 Protein is stored in 50mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5, 150mM NaCl, 10mM glutathione, 0.1mM EDTA, 0.25mM DTT, 0.1mM PMSF, 25% glycerol. STAT2 Protein is suitable for use in Western Blot and Kinase Assay. Expect a band approximately ~138kDa on specific lysates or tissues. Specific conditions for reactivity should be optimized by the end user.
