An Ideal Organism for Studying Vertebrate Embryology and Development.
- Observe the whole zebrafish life cycle in approximately a week.
- Transparent embryos allow observation during development
After the fish hatch, students can continue to raise the fish until adulthood and start the process all over again. Not only will students learn about embryology, they will also learn about photoperiodism since mating is induced by controlling a specific light/dark cycle, as well as how to culture Paramecium and brine shrimp to provide a constant food supply for the developing fry.
