SMAD6 (mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 6) is an antagonist of signaling by TGF-beta (transforming growth factor) type 1 receptor superfamily members; has been shown to inhibit selectively BMP (bone morphogenetic proteins) signaling by competing with the co-SMAD SMAD4 for receptor-activated SMAD1. SMAD6 is an inhibitory SMAD (I-SMAD) or antagonistic SMAD.

SMAD6 antibody can be used for detection of SMAD6 by ELISA at 1:62500. SMAD6 antibody can be used for detection of SMAD6 by western blot at 0.5-1.0 ?g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.

Antibody is supplied as total IgG.

Antibody is lyophilized in PBS buffer with 2% sucrose. Add 200 ?L of distilled water. Final antibody concentration is 1 mg/mL.

Aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
